Alicia was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and displayed an inclination for music at a young age. She loved singing along with records played at home and to the radio, but concentrated mostly on her piano lessons. She continued to stay involved in music and theatre during her adolescent years, performing in church and community theatre productions as often as possible. During these formative years, Alicia realized that music was her passion and decided to pursue a college education in music, emphasis piano studies. At Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, she sang in University Chorale, sang and accompanied the women’s choir University Singers, acted in various theatre department productions, accompanied a few of the operatic productions, and took voice-lessons from Dr. Sheila Corley and Joni Killian. In 2000, she graduated with a B.M. degree in Piano Performance, and in 2003, she was recruited by Dr. Corley again to sing in a church-choir for performances of Brahms’ Requiem, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Handel’s Messiah, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Since relocating to the Pacific NW, Alicia has become active with Christian Youth Theatre’s Vancouver branch and hopes to expand her musical involvement within the greater Portland community.
